Terms of Service

abtmtr.link hosts services that enable users to store, retrieve, and share personal data on and over the internet. Therefore, for these services, we employ the use of this Terms of Service in order for you to understand what you're allowed to store on abtmtr.link servers, as well as what we do with the data you store.

Created December 27, 2025 - Updated January 13, 2026 - Effective January 20, 2026
abtmtr.link users have the right to know when the Terms of Service are updated. When they are, an announcement will be made and emails will be sent.

These terms apply to any easily-accessible data that is written and saved to disk at any point in time on abtmtr.link servers.

They also apply to snapshots and archives of personal data from abtmtr.link servers, even if they're not stored on our infrastructure.

As an abtmtr.link user, you are required to comply with the Terms of Service within a week of the effective date. Failure to do so may result in the disabling of your account (or similar consequences).

abtmtr.link operates in Minnesota, USA, and proxies its traffic through HelioHost. It also uses Cloudflare as a speedy DNS server, and for nothing else.

Can I trust you?

See the front page of cock.li.

You can't. Cock.li doesn't read or scan your e-mail content in any way, but it's possible for any e-mail provider to read your e-mail, so you'll just have to take our word for it. [...] When possible, you should use X.509 or GPG with your mail correspondents to encrypt your message content and prevent it from ever being handled in plaintext on our servers. You should also download and delete your mail from our servers regularly, which alone is almost as good as encrypting your mail.

Just like cock.li, you can't outright trust abtmtr.link in any way, and I do not recommend doing so. abtmtr.link is a one-donkey manned ship, and things change frequently. We do try to keep a trustworthy facade and internals, but know that abtmtr.link is susceptible to human error.

What data is collected by my session when I use abtmtr.link?

Where is data able to be stored?

abtmtr.link provides many services that store user data. Most notably are the Nextcloud server, the @abtmtr.link email server, and the Discord server.

The Discord server is hosted by and provided to us by Discord Inc.. The terms of service for Discord can be found at discord.com/terms. You can also read our server-specific rules at discord.abtmtr.link/info.

The Nextcloud server is operated by abtmtr.link admins, with software and updates provided by Nextcloud GmbH. Due to this, abtmtr.link cannot guarantee the risk of using the Nextcloud server beyond what has been established between Nextcloud GmbH and abtmtr.link.

@abtmtr.link emails are hosted on abtmtr.link servers, using our own MTA solution including Postfix, as well as Dovecot for mail storage and authentication verification.

What can I store?

abtmtr.link recommends using its services as a backup solution alongside your existing storage or email providers.

This is a suggestion, however — you can use the space we give you to store anything you'd like within these rules:

  1. Nothing that's considered illegal in the United States of America (pre-2025).

abtmtr.link is hosted in the United States. Most US laws apply to abtmtr.link content, with protections for exempting certain laws provided by the various amendments in the U.S. Constitution (for example, "anti-DEI" policies, and not recognizing the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America").

  2. No content or usage that attempts to harm others.

abtmtr.link tries its best to be a friendly server. Unauthorized bot activity or suspicious usage will result in your account being disabled.

  3. Administrator discretion also counts.

abtmtr.link admins typically won't look into your data (we have the ability to, but there's a LOT of it, and we're not gonna sort through it like Google), but if you share content that the admins don't like, we reserve full rights to remove that content.
